Lenar Garipov noted Tatarstan's high level of readiness for spring fieldwork at a meeting of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture's Task Force.

Today, the Russian Ministry of Agriculture's Task Force held a meeting via videoconference on the preparation and implementation of spring fieldwork in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. The meeting was chaired by Russian Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut.

Lenar Garipov, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, reported on preparations for spring fieldwork in the Republic of Tatarstan.

Lenar Garipov reported that, due to heavy winter precipitation, there is still ample snow in the fields of the Republic of Tatarstan. The snow depth ranges from 15 to 40 cm. Next week, daytime temperatures are expected to rise to +12 to +15 degrees Celsius, and nighttime temperatures to +5 to +7 degrees Celsius. "We plan to begin fertilizing winter crops and perennial grasses in about a week," he added.

This year's sown area will be 2.7 million hectares, the same as last year, including 1.7 million hectares of spring sowing. The seed supply for grain and leguminous crops is 123%, with 304,000 tons of seed available.

He reported that 64.4 kg of active ingredients of fertilizers have been accumulated per hectare. This year, 11,000 tractors, 2,500 trucks, 880 seeding complexes, 4,600 seeders, and 5,300 tillage machines will be used in the fields. Farms have allocated 3.3 billion rubles for equipment repairs this year.

Concluding his report, Lenar Garipov noted the republic's high level of readiness for spring fieldwork.
