Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Zyabbarov reported today at a meeting in the Government House of the Republic of Tatarstan on preparations for spring fieldwork and realizing the export potential of the republic's agro-industrial complex. The meeting was chaired by the Head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov. Tatarstan Prime Minister Alexey Pesoshin and Acting Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov participated in the meeting.

Daytime temperatures above zero in the republic have been stable since March 11. Nighttime frosts are currently preventing rapid snowmelt and flooding.

The Rosselkhoztsentr branch has inspected 230,000 tons of seeds, or 93% of the grain harvest. The two-week trend is up 4%. Of the required volume of purchased seeds, 89% of corn, 85% of sunflower, and 99% of sugar beet have been contracted. Seed delivery is on schedule, at last year's level.

61 kg of mineral fertilizer per hectare has been accumulated for this year's harvest, including fall application. The two-week trend is up 67,000 tons, or 11 kg of active ingredient per hectare.

Recipients have currently received 263 million rubles in state support. Over 1.9 billion rubles will be transferred in the next two weeks.

The final acceptance of farms' readiness for spring fieldwork will take place from March 23 to 27. By this time, it is necessary to complete the assembly of agricultural machinery, equip tractors with machine operators, ensure safe working conditions, and hold meetings with workforces to clarify wage conditions for the sowing season.

The minister recalled that, according to a draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan, restrictions on truck traffic on regional and municipal roads are planned from April 1 to 30. These restrictions will not apply to the transportation of food products, feed, fertilizers, seeds, and fuels and lubricants.

The head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan then reported on the prospects for developing foreign economic activity in the republic's agro-industrial complex and realizing its export potential. In 2025, agricultural exports reached $540 million, exceeding the same period in 2024 by $94 million, or 121% of the annual plan. Ninety enterprises are engaged in export activities, with exports reaching 49 countries.

Fat and oil products traditionally account for the largest share of exports. Exports reached $360 million, an increase of 12.2% compared to last year. The key exporters are the Kazan Fat Plant and Essen Production.

Food products account for a significant volume: exports amounted to $53 million, 15.7% higher than the previous year. Positive trends are also observed in a number of other areas.

In 2025, the main importing countries were Iran, Kazakhstan, India, Belarus, China, and several other countries. One of the strategic objectives is to expand the geography of supplies. Countries in North Africa and Southeast Asia have been identified as priority areas.

The Russian Ministry of Agriculture and the federal center "Agroexport" have established target indicators for the development of agricultural exports through 2030. Tatarstan's goal is to increase exports to $900 million by 2030 by expanding its sales geography and implementing new export-oriented investment projects.

Government support is an important factor in the development of export activities. In 2025, 13 Tatarstan companies received 448 million rubles to partially reimburse the costs of transporting agricultural products to foreign markets.
