Marat Zyabbarov: "Ensuring the epizootic well-being of the Republic of Tatarstan is one of the main tasks."

Today, the final joint board meeting of the Main Veterinary Directorate of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Office of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance in the Republic of Tatarstan was held in the Arsk Municipal District.

The meeting was attended by Andrey Mukovnin, Deputy Director of the Veterinary Department of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation; Marat Zyabbarov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan; Azat Khamayev, Chairman of the Committee on Ecology, Nature Management, Agro-Industrial and Food Policy; Ekzam Gubaydullin, Chairman of the Association "Council of Municipalities of the Republic of Tatarstan"; Ilnur Galeyev, Head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Administration for the Republic of Tatarstan; heads of state veterinary associations and heads of territorial departments of the State Veterinary Inspectorate.

Andrey Mukovnin, Deputy Director of the Veterinary Department of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, thanked the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan for its support of the veterinary service and noted the adequate funding provided by regional authorities.

"The veterinary service of the Republic of Tatarstan is among the undisputed leaders in key indicators such as logistics, salaries, and specialist training," said Andrey Mukovnin.

Timur Galeev, Head of the Main Veterinary Department of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan, spoke about the results of the work of the Main Veterinary Department of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan in 2025 and the priority tasks for 2026.

According to him, the anti-epidemic measures plan for 2025 has been fully implemented. During the year, specialists from government and industrial services conducted more than 510 million vaccinations, more than 5.5 million diagnostic tests, and approximately 77 million antiparasitic treatments. Disinfection was carried out in 14,000 agricultural buildings—more than 19 million square meters of space.

Ilnur Galeev, Head of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance for the Republic of Tatarstan, spoke about the Department's work and highlighted important aspects for future work, including strengthening biosecurity at enterprises; monitoring animal movements; training personnel at enterprises; monitoring and early detection; and coordinating actions between various agencies.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov summarized the results of 2025 and noted that one of the pressing and important issues is the threat of dangerous diseases entering the republic.

He identified the following as key objectives for 2026: ensuring epizootic well-being in the Republic of Tatarstan; biological protection of livestock enterprises and farms; animal marking and recording; attracting young specialists; expanding the scope of veterinary laboratory accreditation; and developing a biological waste disposal program.
