Tatarstan's gross agricultural output is estimated to reach 401.3 billion rubles in 2025, with an increase of 107%. This was announced today by Marat Zyabbarov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Minister of Agriculture and Food, at a meeting in the Government House of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Rustam Minnikhanov, Chairman of the Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, chaired the meeting. The event, as usual, was held via videoconference with all municipal districts.
"The sustained positive dynamics in production are primarily the result of the daily dedicated work of our farmers and the consistent support of the rural economy by the republic's leadership, as well as constant attention to the lives and work of rural residents," said Marat Zyabbarov. He emphasized that the key production targets under the agreements between the Russian Ministry of Agriculture and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan have been fully achieved.
he year can be considered favorable for the crop production sector overall, said Marat Zyabbarov. In terms of crop production, 4.6 million tons of grain were produced (including grain corn), with a yield of 35.8 centners per hectare; 1 million tons of oilseeds, with a yield of 16.5 centners per hectare; 2.3 million tons of sugar beets, with a yield of 432 centners per hectare; 1 million tons of potatoes; and 277,000 tons of vegetables. 1.7 million tons of feed units were harvested.
"This year, there have been significant changes in the structure of crop areas. The grain area has decreased by 90,000 hectares in favor of oilseeds," noted Marat Zyabbarov.
Three districts lead in grain production by gross harvest: the Buinsky, Tetyushsky, and Arsky districts. The Tetyushsky, Kukmorsky, and Aksubayevsky districts lead in grain yield.
Sugar beet processing continues in the republic. To date, 1,510,000 tons of root crops have been processed, and 209,000 tons of sugar have been produced since the start of the season. Over 600,000 tons of raw material remain to be removed from piles.
Speaking about the development of the livestock sector, the minister stated: "This year, we will produce 2,370,000 tons of milk, an increase of 82,000 tons, or 103.6% compared to the 2024 level. Egg production is expected to increase by 1.5% to 1,631,000 eggs." The livestock and poultry production forecast for slaughter in live weight is 525,000 tons, 102.9% of the 2024 target. The Republic is fully self-sufficient in livestock products. Per capita, we exceed consumption standards for milk by 61%, meat by 18%, and eggs by 32%. The construction of dairy complexes is one of the key drivers of milk production growth.
The head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan emphasized that the establishment of feed centers is a priority. Currently, 58 feed centers operate in 24 districts, serving over 215,000 head of livestock in agricultural enterprises. Of these, five feed centers, servicing 13,800 head, were opened this year. Construction of three feed centers is currently underway in the Arsky, Atninsky, and Sabinsky districts.
The minister asked the heads of municipal districts to plan the construction of feed centers for 2026. He recalled that state support from the republican budget is provided for this issue: 50% of the equipment purchase cost and 30% of the building construction cost are reimbursed.
The minister reported that this year, farms purchased 1,960 units of equipment, including 305 tractors, 106 grain harvesters, and 33 forage harvesters, for a total of 8.6 billion rubles.
In 2025, state support was provided to farms under the "Technical and Technological Modernization" program to reimburse a part of the costs of equipment purchased in 2022-2023; 2.2 billion rubles were allocated.
"Despite the difficulties, it is necessary to continue modernizing the industry. Without systematic modernization, we will not be able to attract personnel and ensure the industry's competitiveness," said Marat Zyabbarov.
In 2025, 21 accidents were recorded in the industry, 12 of which were work-related, including three fatalities. Despite the increase in the overall number of accidents compared to the previous year, the fatalities were reduced by 62%, noted the head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan. The increase in industrial injuries this year underscores the need to strengthen occupational safety and health, he emphasized.
"The Republic is actively participating in the state program 'Integrated Development of Rural Areas,'" said Marat Zyabbarov. "In 2025, the total funding for activities under this program amounted to 4.1 billion rubles, including 2,472.2 million rubles from the federal budget, 657.2 million rubles from the budget of the Republic of Tatarstan, 13.5 million rubles from local budgets, and 979 million rubles from extra-budgetary funds. Next year, 12.8 billion rubles will be allocated for the implementation of this program."
