Traditional agricultural fairs resumed in the republic on September 13 at 14 sites in Kazan, two in Naberezhnye Chelny and the Zelenodolsk district, three in the Nizhnekamsk district, and with varying frequency in municipal districts.

Last weekend, Lenar Garipov, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan, visited the fairs on Batyrshina, Leningradskaya, Dementyeva, and Avzalova Streets, personally appreciating the wide variety of food products on offer.

After speaking with vendors and buyers, the First Deputy Minister was convinced that interest in the fairs is only growing.

The stalls featured poultry, eggs, beef, pork, potatoes, vegetables, milk and dairy products, sugar, sunflower oil, flour, and a variety of confectionery products. Farmers and agricultural enterprises offered residents fresh, high-quality produce grown and produced in the republic.

Over the course of twelve weeks of fairs, agricultural products worth a total of 1,154.8 million rubles were imported, including 6,493.3 tons of vegetables (including 3,957.5 tons of potatoes); 238.3 tons of bulk milk; 715.5 tons of sugar; 1,603.8 thousand chicken eggs; and 865.7 tons of meat (including 500.6 tons of beef).

Agricultural fairs have become a well-established tradition in Tatarstan and are held regularly, connecting producers and consumers, promoting agricultural development and improving food security in the region, all in line with the goals and objectives of the national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy."

Agricultural fairs in Tatarstan will continue until December 28, 2025.
