Under the supervision of the Tatarstan branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "TsOK AIC" (Agro-Industrial Complex Center), a shipment of flaxseed to China was carried out from the Nizhnekamsk District. The batch, weighing over 1,600 tons, was exported by rail in containers.
Before shipment, samples underwent comprehensive laboratory testing in accordance with Chinese requirements, the terms of the contract, and the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union (TR CU 015/2011 "On Grain Safety").
The testing included analysis for toxic elements, mycotoxins, pesticides, radionuclides, GMOs, and the presence of quarantine pests, including entomological, herbological, and mycological testing of the samples. In addition, specialists disinfected the grain using a fumigation agent based on aluminum phosphide.
The test results confirmed the flax's compliance with the importing country's and contractual requirements, including the absence of quarantine organisms significant to China.
"A safety and quality certificate, a non-GMO certificate, a phytosanitary disinfection report, a conclusion on the quarantine and phytosanitary status of the regulated products, and other necessary documents were issued for the export batch of seeds," said Svetlana Belova, head of the inspection body at the Tatarstan branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "TsOK AIC."
This is the second shipment of Tatarstan flax to China in October. Earlier this month, the branch oversaw the shipment of a similar batch of seeds and food peas totaling 3,200 tons in support of the national "Export" project. Thus, since the beginning of the year, total grain exports from the Republic to China have reached 18,500 tons, of which 11,600 tons were flax, 5,100 tons were peas, and 1,800 tons were oats.
It should be noted that the branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "TsOK AIC" in the Republic of Tatarstan is working to gain access to the Chinese market for enterprises and is part of the expert group of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan to assist farmers interested in supplying grain and grain products to that country. Since the beginning of the year, 29 economic entities in the Republic have been certified to export wheat, barley, peas, flax, buckwheat, rapeseed meal, and sugar beet pulp to China.
