Tatarstan Selects Best Young Combine Operator
Last weekend, the final round of the 17th national competition for young combine operators, "Glorifying the Working Man," was held at the Sarmanovsky District Community Center. The event was attended by Marat Zyabbarov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Ilshat Nuriyev, Acting Rector of the Kazan State Agricultural University.
This year, for the first time, young combine operators from all 43 municipal districts, those with the highest harvest yields during the 2025 harvest, are participating in the competition. The competition is being held with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Tatarstan State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, and the Kazan State Agrarian University.
Marat Zyabbarov emphasized that thanks to the combine operators' hard work and responsible approach, the republic maintains sustainable growth in all areas of the industry. "The combine operator profession has always been and will always be considered honorable! The path you've chosen is the right one! Agriculture in the republic is developing, and the industry enjoys significant support from the republic's leadership and the federal ministry. Thanks to new technologies, machinery, automation, and digitalization, we are moving forward and achieving food self-sufficiency for the republic and the country as a whole," the minister noted.
The national project "Technological Support for Food Security" helps train specialists for the agro-industrial complex and promote blue-collar jobs.
Bulat Safin from the Sarmanovsky District was the overall winner of the competition. Ferdinant Zakiryanov from the Aktanyshsky District took second place, and Ilnaz Zakirov from the Apastovsky District took third place.
Sergey Ibragimov, a combine operator from the Chistopolsky District, won the "Record Threshing" category. Ilyas Samigullin from the Baltasinsky District won the "Best Theoretical Knowledge" category. Islam Nasibullin from the Zainsky District was unrivaled in the "Best Practical Knowledge" category. The youngest harvest participant was Bulat Zinnurov from the Kaibitsky Municipal District. Denis Lapaev from the Vysokogorsky District had the longest experience.
