Today, a roundtable discussion entitled "Entering the Indian Market for Export-Oriented Companies: Challenges and Prospects" was held at the Bashir Rameev IT Park as part of the first "TIME: Russia-India. Mutual Efficiency" forum. Rustem Gainullov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, participated in the discussion.
The Indian market offers significant prospects for Tatarstan's agricultural exports. At the session, experts and government officials discussed key aspects, including market requirements, logistics, certification, and government support measures for exporters.
During the discussion, participants received practical recommendations for promoting products in India and learned about successful cases.
Rustem Gainullov emphasized that the Republic of Tatarstan's agro-industrial complex is a modern, high-tech industry with significant development potential, and that India, with its large and rapidly growing population, is one of the most attractive markets for the export of Tatarstan's agricultural products.
According to him, 55 countries imported agricultural products from the Republic of Tatarstan last year. India was the leading importer, accounting for 23.2% of total exports, or $109.2 million.
"We have significant potential to increase exports to India not only of oil and fat products, but also of dairy products (dry milk products, cheeses, and ice cream), meat products (pork, sausages, semi-finished meat products, and canned goods), and food and processing products (confectionery, milled products, pasta, sugar, and sugar products)," the Deputy Minister said.
In conclusion, Rustem Gainullov noted that exporting to India is not only an opportunity to increase sales volumes but also a chance to strengthen the Republic of Tatarstan's image as a reliable partner on the international stage in support of the national "Export" project.
