The first rural financial inclusion offices in Tatarstan have opened in the villages of Staroye Drozhzhanoye and Malaya Tsilna in the Drozhzhanovsky District.
The offices are equipped with computers with internet access so that rural residents can access financial and government services remotely. The access points were created in collaboration with the district administration and the Volga-Vyatka Regional Branch of the National Bank of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Bank of Russia. Experts from the branch demonstrated the capabilities of the rural offices and gave educational lectures on financial literacy and fraud prevention to schoolchildren and older adults.
"Residents of the district now have an additional opportunity to remotely access a basic set of government and financial services. "For example, they can pay utility bills and taxes, use the Gosuslugi portal, apply for a self-prohibition on loans and credits, and open a savings account," noted Marat Sharifullin, Head of the National Bank of the Republic of Tatarstan Branch of the Volga-Vyatka Regional Branch of the Bank of Russia. "Rural offices will also help improve financial knowledge. Rural residents will have the opportunity to join online classes, study useful materials, and improve their financial literacy."
