Today, Marat Zyabbarov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, participated via videoconference in the ceremony handing over the flag of the International Consumer Cooperatives Forum to the Republic of Tatarstan in 2026. The event was held as part of the "Strong Traditions – New Opportunities" forum, currently underway in the Arkhangelsk Region.
Welcoming the participants, Marat Zyabbarov expressed special gratitude for the decision to hold the forum in 2026 in Tatarstan.
"We are pleased to accept the flag of the International Consumer Cooperatives Forum. I am confident that Tatarstan will be an excellent venue. I invite everyone to participate in this useful and interesting event," said Marat Zyabbarov.
More than 40 Russian regions are participating in the "Strong Traditions – New Opportunities" forum, as well as representatives from Belarus, Argentina, Bulgaria, Brazil, Egypt, India, Jordan, Cameroon, Kenya, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, the Philippines, and other countries.
As part of the forum, Tatarstan Consumer Societies (Tatpotrebsoyuz) is presenting a pavilion called "Tatar Farmstead," evoking the atmosphere of Tatar culture and traditions. The farmstead showcases the company's main activities: trade, procurement, production, and food services. The trade stand features a large-scale exhibition and sale, featuring over 200 products at competitive prices, along with folk crafts and souvenirs.
According to Marat Zyabbarov, the Republic of Tatarstan has developed a well-developed consumer cooperative system that supplies rural and urban residents with their own goods. Tatarstan Consumer Societies (Tatpotrebsoyuz) is one of the country's leaders in agricultural procurement and bread baking.
The International Consumer Cooperatives Forum program includes a wide range of events for young people, including a regional stage of the Russian Sambo Cup as part of the "Sambo to Universities" program and a KVN (Club of the Funny and Inventive) festival. A gastronomic festival featuring national dishes, tea ceremonies, a wild plant exhibition, and cultural and entertainment events are also taking place.
The key events are the plenary sessions "International Cooperation for the Development of the Economies of Forum Participating Countries" and "Personnel of the Future: International Cooperation."
