The volume of grain supplies from Tatarstan to the People's Republic of China is growing rapidly. In the first 6 months of last year, China accounted for 7% of the total volume of agricultural exports, and this year it was 13.5%, that is, the growth was 6.5%.
As Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustem Gainullov noted at a briefing dedicated to the International Forum "ROSTKI: Russia and China - Mutually Beneficial Cooperation", the People's Republic of China is a strategic partner for the Republic of Tatarstan in the agro-industrial complex. Foreign economic relations are actively developing between the republics. Mutually beneficial relations strengthen partnership and correspond to the goals of the national project "International Cooperation and Export".
According to the results of 2024, Tatarstan agricultural products worth 41 million US dollars were exported to China. In the first half of last year, Tatarstan agricultural producers shipped more than 3.8 thousand tons of grain (barley), 65 tons of wheat flour, and more than 5.1 thousand tons of vegetable oil to China. In addition, this year the range of products supplied to China has expanded. If in January-June last year only barley and flour were shipped to this country, then this year they were supplemented by oilseeds and legumes, which show good dynamics compared to last year. For example, more than 3.5 thousand tons of food peas, 0.4 thousand tons of rapeseed and sunflower seeds, almost 2 thousand tons of flax were exported. Grain processing products were also exported - beet pulp (more than 5.2 thousand tons). Flour supplies tripled, vegetable oil - by almost 88%.
