30 July 2025, Wednesday

As of July 28, 2025, specialists from the laboratory of the branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "TsOK AIC" in the Republic of Tatarstan, as part of state grain monitoring, have studied more than 82 thousand tons of soft wheat, which is 26% of the gross harvest of this grain crop in the republic as of the current date (315.9 thousand tons) and 48% of the volume of wheat for which notifications were received from agricultural producers.

In total, since the beginning of the harvest, which started on July 15, representatives of the branch have collected 130 grain samples in 25 districts of Tatarstan and conducted more than 1.8 thousand studies that confirmed that the quality of wheat samples from batches of 3, 4 and 5 classes corresponds to.

37.9% of the new crop wheat (31 thousand tons) is classified as 3 and 4 classes. The best indicators for grain naturalness were recorded in 5 districts: Aktanyshsky, Buinsky, Spassky, Chistopolsky and Drozhzhanovsky.

– The gluten content in the received wheat is 26%, the quality indicators according to the IDK are in the range of 80-90 units, which corresponds to group II for classes 3 and 4, the naturalness indicators are on average 745 g / l, the grain vitreousness is 50%, specialists did not identify any foreign impurities or pests, - said Tatyana Menlikieva, director of the branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "TsOK AIC" in the Republic of Tatarstan.

During the tests, laboratory specialists determined such grain quality indicators as grain impurity, naturalness, vitreousness, quality and quantity of raw gluten, protein, mass fraction of moisture; grain was examined for safety indicators (pest infestation, contamination with dead insect pests), in addition, the grain was analyzed for the presence of harmful impurities (ergot, trichodesma gray, sophora foxtail, elm, creeping bitterling and others).

As the director of the branch explained, the wheat class is determined based on the worst indicators, not taking into account humidity and weed impurities, which change after grain processing. The final assessment of the quality of the new wheat crop will be carried out at the end of the harvesting campaign in November of this year after a laboratory study of all received grain samples. Monitoring will cover all 43 municipalities of the Republic of Tatarstan.

As of July 28, the branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "TsOK AIC" in the Republic of Tatarstan received 190 notifications from agricultural producers to study the new wheat harvest, the total volume of which amounted to almost 235 thousand tons, as part of state grain monitoring.

In the coming months, specialists from the accredited testing laboratory of the branch plan to cover 100% of agricultural wheat producers and conduct at least 67 thousand studies of the entire gross harvest of this agricultural crop. To do this, they will have to take a total of about 3.5 thousand wheat samples at the places where grain lots are formed in the regions of the republic.
