Marat Zyabbarov: "The role of livestock breeders is increasing every year"
Today, the 8th Republican competition of livestock breeders of dairy and beef cattle breeding was held in the Vysokogorsky municipal district of the Republic of Tatarstan at the premises of JSC GPP "Elita". The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov, General Director of JSC GPP "Elita" Fannur Zaripov, representatives of the departments of agriculture and food in the municipal districts of the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as students of the Kazan State Agrarian University.
One of the most important areas of breeding work in animal husbandry is selection. It is on the shoulders of livestock breeders that the improvement of breeds and the increase in the genetic potential of animals lie. According to the results of last year, the productivity per 1 cow on average in the Republic of Tatarstan was 8274 kg. Zootechnicians-breeders have serious tasks: ensuring the growth of their own breeding heifers for the needs of the farm and sales to third-party organizations, increasing the productive longevity of cows and, as a result, reducing the attrition of dairy cows, as well as working with genomic laboratories.
“In 2024, at the competition of breeding heifers “Krasa Agrovolgi”, the first place was taken by the daughter of the breeding bull of the breeding enterprise “Elita”. Productivity for 2024 per 1 cow exceeded 9,800 kg. Such results were achieved due to the selection and breeding work carried out on farms. The next goal is to achieve milk productivity of 11 tons per 1 cow,” said Marat Zyabbarov.
According to the minister, the role of zootechnicians-breeders is increasing every year. Their skill lies in improving the genetic potential of breeding animals, which allows forming a breeding core of highly productive cows.
He said that starting in 2026, work in the federal system of breeding resources will become mandatory. The creation and operation of FGIAS PR will allow registering breeding animals and herds, keeping records of breeding farms, tracking the issuance of conclusions on the import of breeding products, as well as analyzing and processing all the data received. This will also help reduce the burden on businesses to provide reports - through the system, you can receive government services in electronic form.
"Productivity, calf yield, safety of heifer stock and other indicators will be available to buyers of cattle. In these conditions, the role of our own high-quality breeding base is increasing. Especially since foreign markets for breeding cattle are closing," Marat Zyabbarov emphasized.
The best specialists - winners of district competitions - took part in the competition. The commission checked the participants' skills in laboratory conditions, assessed the practical experience and production indicators of the contestants, and the participants also demonstrated their knowledge of the theoretical basis of the profession.
The absolute champion of the 8th Republican competition of livestock breeders in the dairy and meat productivity direction was Syumbel Safina from Prodovolstvennaya Programma LLC of the Mamadysh municipal district of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The first place was taken by Liliya Garaeva from the Tan agricultural production cooperative of the Atninsky district, the second place was taken by Ramila Valiullina from AF Vozrozhdenie LLC of the Arsky district, and the third place was taken by Lyubov Ibatullina from Orsis Agro LLC of the Nizhnekamsk district.
Also, as part of the event, Marat Zyabbarov presented gratitude from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan to Anastasia Safronova, Syumbel Safina and Landysh Shigapova.
