Today, the research agency "PromRating" together with the agroholding "Chistopolye" presented the results of a sociological study in the field of perception of residents of large cities of Tatarstan aspects of the agricultural sector and food production in the region. According to it, only 4.9% of residents of large cities of Tatarstan know that the republic provides itself with basic products by more than 100%.
The situation was commented on by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov:
"The information that less than 5 percent of residents of large cities of Tatarstan are aware of the achievements of the agricultural complex of the republic is a surprise.
Thanks to the systematic efforts of agricultural workers, the Republic of Tatarstan has been covering the needs of its own population for basic food products by more than 100% for quite some time!
In other words, thanks to farmers, Tatarstan does not need to import anything from outside its borders to fill the stores and refrigerators of its residents; we produce everything ourselves, on our own land.
The provision of meat, milk, eggs and bread is more than 100% of the norm per resident of Tatarstan, for sugar and potatoes - over 300%, and for vegetable oil, the provision is more than 7 times higher than the norm.
High results are achieved due to strict adherence to agricultural measures, the introduction of new technologies, and the involvement of unique specialists in the industry. This is meticulous and systematic work, which we do 24/7."
Brief information on the industry
Agro-industrial complex does not stop at the achieved level of more than 100% provision of residents of the Republic of Tatarstan with basic food products.
The republic continues active work on the construction of livestock farms and complexes, the introduction of a digital livestock accounting system, herd management programs and feeding management. The region increases the intensity of work with the land, reduces the industry's dependence on weather and climate factors.
Over the past 5 years, 82 dairy complexes and farms with a capacity of 51.4 thousand heads have been commissioned. Including in 2023 - 19 dairy complexes for 10.6 thousand heads.
Thanks to the targeted efforts of agricultural workers, the Republic of Tatarstan in the summer of 2024 for the first time in its history reached the mark of 5 thousand tons of milk yield per day.
The construction and commissioning of modern dairy complexes form the basis for a further increase in milk production at a level of 2-3% annually.
In the direction of crop production, the emphasis is currently on working with high-margin crops and their processing, there is an active transition to highly effective, safe liquid fertilizers, the development of new plant varieties of domestic selection.
Reducing dependence on variable weather conditions is ensured by modernizing the melioration complex. More and more agricultural lands in Tatarstan receive artificial irrigation systems.
Agro-landscape soil-protecting farming systems are actively being introduced, allowing for additional soil fertility improvement.
Achieving high performance indicators is impossible without timely equipment upgrades. The Republic of Tatarstan is implementing agricultural machinery fleet modernization programs, compensating farmers for 30% of the new equipment purchased.
About 3,000 units of agricultural machinery are purchased annually for up to 13 billion rubles within the framework of the program with budget support of 30% of the cost.
