Horse race "Tatarstan-Altai" finished in the Republic of Altai
Today, in the village of Karym of the Republic of Altai, the equestrian race on horses of the Tatar breed Tatarstan-Altai took place.
Gorny Altai is a special place on the map of Russia, the cradle of the Turkic civilization. A few years ago, the memorial sign "Altai - the heart of Eurasia" installed on behalf of the First President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev on the banks of the Katun River became a symbol of close ties between the fraternal peoples. And these days, our republics were connected by a horse race, designed to popularize horses of the Tatar breed.
At the finish line, the participants of the run were met and congratulated on the completion of an interesting and unforgettable journey by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Zyabbarov and First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Altai Ezher Yalbakov. They also planted the Altai cedar as a sign of friendship between peoples and republics.
“You have done a tremendous job. This race introduced the regions not only to the Tatar breed of horses, but also showed the diversity and color of our Tatar culture, spiritual values carefully passed down from generation to generation. The race once again confirmed the unity of the fraternal peoples of our multi-confessional country,” said Marat Zyabbarov, addressing the participants of the run.
Residents of 56 settlements of Tatarstan and 8 regions of Russia became witnesses of this bright and large-scale event, more than 3 thousand kilometers long. In each region, they were met by representatives of the regions, the executive committee of the World Congress of Tatars, creative teams, residents of cities and villages.
Horses of the Tatar breed mainly have a nighting color, that is, the body, head and limbs are golden-sandy in color of varying intensity; the bangs, mane and tail are lighter than the body or the same color. They have a dense and strong type of construction and are characterized by the correct exterior and the proportional development of individual parts of the body. Head of medium size, straight profile and neck, well developed chest and strong limbs. By live weight, they belong to the group of breeds of medium build 470 - 474 kg.
Currently, a long-term target program "Development of horse breeding and equestrian sport in the Republic of Tatarstan until 2030" is being developed.
The horses that took part in the race were solemnly handed over to the Republic of Altai today.
