Today, the Ministry hosted a meeting with the Consul General of Turkmenistan in Kazan Guych Garayev. It was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov, First Deputy Minister Nail Zalakov, Deputy Ministers Dmitry Yashin, Lenar Garipov, Head of the Department of Engineering and Technical Support of the AIC Ilnar Gabbasov.
Marat Zyabbarov spoke about the activities of the agro-industrial complex of the Republic of Tatarstan. He noted that the republic ranks first in the Volga Federal District in terms of gross agricultural output, having 2.2% of the country's agricultural land, the republic produces 4% of its agricultural products.
The minister dwelled on export indicators and stressed that in 2022, products worth $1.24 million were exported from the Republic of Tatarstan to the Republic of Turkmenistan. This is mainly sunflower oil, confectionery, mayonnaise and other sauces. There is no direct import from Turkmenistan to Tatarstan.
The parties expressed great interest in establishing trade relations.
“I think the indicators of both exports and imports are very low. Our republics have a huge unrealized potential for increasing these indicators. We need to find specific points of contact,” Marat Zyabbarov summed up.
