Construction and installation work on the object "Reconstruction of the Northern Section of the Laishevsky Irrigation System, Laishevsky Municipal District, Republic of Tatarstan" within the framework of the state program for the effective involvement of agricultural land in circulation and the development of the reclamation complex of the Russian Federation, approved by the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated May 14, 2021. N 731 completed ahead of schedule. Financing from the budget of the Russian Federation amounted to 50 million rubles.

The design capacity of the facility is 578.8 hectares.

The reclamation system includes: a main pipeline with a length of more than 11 km, a head pumping station and a booster pumping station with a total capacity of 1370 kW, which are federally owned and under the right of operational management in the Tatmeliovodkhoz Department. The reclamation system covers 823 hectares of land.

According to Mars Khismatullin, head of Tatmeliovodkhoz Department subordinate to the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, on irrigated lands LLC Agrofirma Narmonka is mainly engaged in the cultivation of cabbage, potatoes, beets and carrots. The farm is the main supplier of potatoes and vegetables for the city of Kazan and is systematically updating the on-farm reclamation network and sprinkler equipment. For this section of the irrigation system, the farm purchased and installed 9 domestic-made Kazanka circular sprinklers for a total of 59.5 million rubles to replace the old Fregat machines. With the republican target program for melioration, the farm received a subsidy from the budget of the Republic of Tatarstan to compensate for 70 percent of the cost of irrigation equipment.

Early commissioning and launch of the reclamation system before the start of the irrigation season allowed the farm to irrigate potatoes, vegetables and other crops on an area of about 400 hectares, where it is planned to receive additional production worth more than 140 million rubles this year.

The Laishevskaya irrigation system was built in the 70-80s of the last century in order to provide vegetables to the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, Kazan, and nearby cities and regional centers. In the future, Agrofirm "Narmonka" plans to increase irrigated land up to 2300 hectares.
