One of the directions of the work of the Congress was holding a scientific-practical conference under the leadership of the vice-president of the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan Vadim Khomenko on the theme "Bioproducts in the conditions of irrigated agriculture". On June 10, together with the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Tatmeliovodkhoz” Department, an off-site meeting and a round table on the topic “Assistance in the dissemination of the development of organic agriculture and the production of environmentally friendly products in the regions of the EAEU and the CIS” were organised. As part of the scientific and practical conference, the congress participants visited the irrigated experimental fields of the TatNIISKh FRC KazNTs RAS, as well as the agrobiotechnopark of the Kazan State Agrarian University and the Federal State Budgetary Institution Management "Tatmeliovodkhoz".
Mars Khismatullin, director of the Tatmeliovodkhoz reclamation institution subordinate to the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, and Rustam Nizamov, director of the TatNIISKh, presented the participants of the event with reclaimed experimental sites and the scientific and practical work on the development of reclamation carried out in Tatarstan together with the TatNIISKh and Kazan AgroUniversity.
Mars Khismatullin noted that a large role in research work in the republic is given to field trials, which have been ongoing since 2012. For this, modern irrigation systems were scientifically substantiated, designed and built at three sites: on the fields of the TatNIISKh, the Agrobiotechnopark of the Kazan State Agrarian University and the international exhibition center Kazan-Expo. Fundamental research in the field of reclamation farming and plant breeding is carried out at the sites under various irrigation methods and rates, various methods and technology options are being developed.
In addition, production experiments on irrigation are being carried out at the basic farms of the republic, where the most promising variants of plot experiments are being tested in the following areas: crop production, potato growing, vegetable growing, and fruit and berry crops.
The advantage of the republic is the fact that the restored and newly built irrigated lands are equipped with modern highly efficient sprinkling equipment of domestic production, produced at the Kazan Plant of Irrigation Equipment, and the use of domestic biological products, also produced in Tatarstan, allows minimizing the pesticide load and obtaining environmentally friendly products.
At the end of the program, the rector of the Agrarian University Airat Valiyev acquainted the participants with the work of the modern laboratory of the university, where comprehensive studies of soil and plant samples are carried out.
