Agrosila's seed plant prepared 31,000 tons of seeds for use in 2022
In 2021, 28 thousand seeds produced by the seed plant were sown on the fields of the agricultural holding, another 2 thousand tons of seeds were sold. This year, the holding plans to produce and ship seeds only for its own needs. The total shipment of seeds from the plant will be 31,010 tons. For sale within the holding, 9026 tons of barley, 5663 tons of spring wheat, 11785 tons of winter wheat, 1031 tons of peas, 92 tons of rapeseed, 300 tons of mustard, 41 tons of alfalfa are used. Another 3,071 tons will be put in the insurance fund for reseeding.
Seed plant Agrosila is the largest seed plant in the Volga region, it produces original and elite seeds of different varieties of agricultural crops. The enterprise cooperates with the largest research institutes in Russia and has its own variety testing fields, where more than 100 types of promising varieties are tested. The seed plant works on the principle of "plant - field". Each batch of seeds is certified by the Rosselkhoztsentr, and then delivered as ready for sowing directly to the fields of the holding's agricultural firms. Thus, the chain of intermediaries is eliminated, which can significantly reduce logistics costs.
After the reconstruction carried out in 2020, the production capacity of the plant increased to 700 tons of seeds per day. This became possible, among other things, thanks to the installation of a new color sorter with a capacity of 15 tons per hour, which made it possible to reduce seed losses from 25% to 5%. The software allows you to sample by size, color and light reflection from the surface of the seeds. Together with various types of cameras, the color sorter helps to exclude hard-to-separate seeds from the flow with the most accurate determination of their belonging to waste or seeds. After passing through several stages, the purity of the material is 99.99% and complies with state standards. In addition, in 2021, a line for the production of seeds of high reproduction and small seed crops was modernized, the capacity of the line is 10 tons per hour.
