The Russian Agricultural Center of Tatarstan assessed the state of winter crops on January 20, 2022. For a week, the institution's specialists randomly examined winter crops in order to determine the general condition of the fields on an area of 2.4 thousand hectares.

“In the information prepared based on the results of phytomonitoring, it is clear that 25 mm of precipitation fell in the republic in a week (as of January 20), which is a half-monthly norm,” said Lyubov Zanina, deputy head of the Rosselkhozcenter branch in the Republic of Tatarstan.

According to phytomonitoring data, the sugar content in winter crops is 26–33%, which is a good indicator; the condition of winter crops in the surveyed fields is assessed as good and satisfactory.

In order to determine and assess the condition of winter crops during their overwintering, specialists of the institution recommend that farmers carry out systematic monitoring. This will allow to timely determine the viability of plants in crops, the degree of damage by adverse factors and carefully prepare for caring for plants.
