Winter work in a garden: how gardeners and farmers prepare for the spring
With the onset of winter, when the plants no longer need care, gardeners can do things for which there was never enough time in spring and summer. The deputy head of the branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Rosselkhoztsentr" in the Republic of Tatarstan Lyubov Zanina told about them.
From the moment the first snow falls, it is necessary to start regularly carrying out snow retention work on the site, installing fences from scrap materials in the right places. The lack of snow is bad for the "wintering" of plants. Therefore, it is necessary to scoop the snow from the paths to the bushes and trees with a mound.
Do not forget about the little helpers who destroy pests on the site - birds. Winter is a real test for them, so it is necessary to hang out the feeders and feed the birds regularly.
In winter, it can be easier to find time to check the condition of garden benches, tables, and tweak a fence or flower bed if necessary.
