The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan discussed cultivation of potatoes in private farms
Today, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan held a videoconference meeting on the situation with potatoes in private farms. The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov, Deputy Minister Rishat Khabipov, Head of the Food Market Development Department Dmitry Yashin, as well as heads of districts, heads of agricultural units and other responsible persons.
"Today we are planning a federal project for the development of vegetable market, in particular potato cultivation. Despite the fact that the population of the country is provided with potatoes, we intend to take support measures to develop the activities of personal subsidiary farms. We must help to create more private farms in order to increase production volumes. To do this, it is necessary to get to the people who are engaged in potatoes and vegetables, and contribute to the sale of their products," Oksana Lut said.
In turn, Marat Zyabbarov reported on the situation with potatoes in private subsidiary farms in Tatarstan.
"In the Republic of Tatarstan, the number of private farms is 472.4 thousand, the land area with the type of permitted direction for the management of private farms is 114.6 thousand hectares. Personal farms produced 40% of the gross volume of agricultural products in farms of all categories. Every year, the Ministry holds a competition "Personal subsidiary farm", where the winners are awarded 25 prizes of 100 thousand rubles. Since September 11, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan has been holding traditional agricultural Saturday weekend fairs, by providing free trading places and freeing up a number of other expenses, it is possible to sell products of Tatarstan agricultural producers 10-20% lower than the average. Potato production in 2021 in the households of the population amounted to 751.5 thousand tons," the minister said.
After all the reports, Rishat Khabipov set directions for the sale of potatoes from the republic's agricultural enterprises.
"It is necessary to restore and maintain ties between the city and the countryside in order to establish uninterrupted supplies. It is also important to establish a dialogue and cooperative relations with retail chains, to actively work on the procurement of products from the Tatpotrebsoyuz, to promote the sale of products at fairs. In such matters, the exchange of experience with other regions is very important," concluded Rishat Khabipov.
