Today, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan held a meeting in the format of a videoconference to discuss issues of agricultural insurance. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan-Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov. The event was attended by Deputy Ministers Ildus Gabdrakhmanov, Lenar Garipov, specialists of the departments of agriculture of the districts, heads of agricultural organizations, farmers, investors and representatives of insurance companies.

Currently, 7 insurance companies are engaged in crop insurance in the Republic of Tatarstan: LLC SK "Consent", CJSC SK "RSHB-insurance", JSC " Insurance Company "Talisman", IC "VSK insurance House", IC "Astro-Volga", LLC "Absolute Insurance", PJSC " IC "Rosgosstrakh".

"In recent years, we have seen a positive trend in crop insurance. If 178 thousand hectares of land were insured in 2020, then 279 thousand hectares have been insured for the current year's harvest," Marat Zyabbarov said.

The president of the National Union of Agricultural Insurers, Korney Bijdov, spoke about the new product and recommended analyzing all the risks before choosing an agricultural insurance product.

It was also noted at the meeting that over the past 2 years, the financial burden on farms for insurance has significantly decreased. When receiving these state support measures, insurance of one hectare of crops costs about 100 rubles per hectare.

In addition, the meeting participants came to the conclusion that farms should have their own competent specialist who monitors the fulfillment of terms of the contract.

"A number of managers believe that if there is a contract, then when a dangerous phenomenon occurs, insurance companies must pay him the losses. But there are obligations of farms themselves in the contracts, " said Deputy Minister Ildus Gabdrakhmanov.
