Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan – Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov told about carrying out leaf feeding of plants today at a meeting in the Government House of Tatarstan.
The President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, held a meeting in videoconference mode with all municipal districts. The meeting was attended by Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexey Pesoshin.
Marat Zyabbarov said that on June 7, a thematic seminar of the field format with the analysis of the current situation in the fields and on measures to preserve the potential of agricultural crops with a shortage of precipitation was held in Aksubayevsky municipal district with the participation of managers and specialists of the agro-industrial complex.
The root system of winter crops is weak and receives poor nutrition from the soil. Therefore, the plants need to be supported through leaf feeding, the minister said.
In general, more than 1 million hectares received leaf nutrition in the republic, but the activity of districts and farms is different. Since the second half of June, productive precipitation is predicted, and the current task is to support plants with foliar nutrition in order to get a crop with minimal losses, said Marat Zyabbarov.
The head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan noted that there is a forage harvesting company in the republic. The quality of feed and the productivity of animal husbandry will depend on its organization and compliance with technologies.
The demand of agricultural enterprises of the republic for feed is on average 30 quintals of feed units per 1 usl. head.(for comparison: in 2020 - 31.8). In physical weight, this is haylage - more than 2 million 336 thousand tons (in 2020 - 3260 thousand tons), silage - 2 million 569 thousand tons( 2425 thousand tons in 2020), hay – 322 thousand tons (671 thousand tons).
Of the planned 445 thousand hectares of perennial grasses, 186 thousand hectares have been mowed today, which is 42% (in 2020 - 83 thousand hectares). 440 thousand tons of haylage (2020 – 180 thousand tons) and 45 thousand tons of hay (in 2020 – 3 thousand tons) were harvested.
The Minister stressed that today all the districts of the republic have started harvesting feed. The largest volumes were harvested in Tetyushsky (10.26 c.c.units), Bugulminsky (9.2 c. c.units), Zainsky (6.93 c.c.units), and Nizhnekamsk (6.03 c.c.units) municipal districts.
In Sabinsky district, mobile operational groups have been established, which constantly monitor the quality of the laid mass with the help of an express analyzer (AgriNir).
The correct alignment of production and technological processes of forage procurement directly affects the quality and volume of production of livestock products, said Marat Zyabbarov. He recalled that issues of organizational and technological control of the process of harvesting coarse feed were considered at the training organized on the basis of the Atninsky Agricultural Technical School from 17 to 29 May 2021. More than 100 managers and zootechnicians of agricultural organizations, consultants on animal husbandry of agricultural departments were trained.
The head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan appealed to the heads of districts, heads of holdings and farms: to mobilize equipment and organize round-the-clock work, to complete the harvesting of the first grass mowing by June 20.
For those farms where a serious shortage of juicy feed is expected, it is necessary to sow additional areas, primarily after harvesting annual grasses, with crops that give a good green mass in dry weather conditions.
