Rural residents of Tatarstan will receive seedlings and seeds for 10 million rubles free of charge
The President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, on the initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan, made a decision to allocate 10 million rubles for the sale of vegetable seeds to the rural population.
In total, Tatarstan citizens will receive 30 tons of onion sets, 1 ton of carrot seeds, 600 kg of table beet seeds, as well as cabbage seedlings.
The goal of the program is in free transfer of seeds and seedlings to the rural population, which makes it possible to ensure self-employment of villagers in a difficult economic situation and to maintain food stability in the republic.
The operators for the supply of seeds were regional consumer societies and cooperatives of the Tatpotrebsoyuz system, with the expectation that the crop grown by the villagers would be purchased by them for further sale. To date, the seeds have already been transferred to the regions of the republic for further distribution among personal subsidiary plots. Seedlings will arrive a little later, in May.
