Today the delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan headed by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov visited the Sverdlovsk region. The purpose of the trip was to exchange experience and study achievements in the field of agricultural education and selection and seed production.

The Ural State Agrarian University, which was visited by the guests, has been conducting educational and research activities for 80 years, taking into account both Russian and world experience. It is noteworthy that the university works in close cooperation with research institutes and commercial enterprises. The guests were also interested in the training class with simulators for driving agricultural machinery, where the processes of sowing, processing and harvesting of various crops are simulated in form of a computer game.

Further, the delegation studied the work of the Ural Scientific Institute of Agriculture, the laboratory and greenhouse complex of the SSC Ural Potato and the storehouse of marketable potatoes of JSC Belorechensky. The companies also work in close cooperation. Thanks to this, a chain has been built from the development of new varieties of potatoes to their large-scale commercial production.

In the laboratory of reproduction under absolutely sterile conditions, in vitro potato material is propagated in test tubes, for which potato varieties developed by the Ural Research Institute of Agriculture are used. After a couple of weeks, they are planted in a greenhouse complex. Climate conditions, temperature and humidity are maintained automatically. Thus, the laboratory for micropropagation of potato plants is capable of producing more than 70,000 in-vitro plants, and the greenhouse complex allows the production of more than 560,000 mini-tubers per year.

The delegation of the republic noted that the experience gained in the Sverdlovsk region will be useful for the creation of a Seed Breeding Center in Tatarstan on the basis of the FRC KazSC RAS in conjunction with the TatNIISH FRC KazSC RAS, the Agrarian University and a number of enterprises of the republic.
