The Ministry of Agriculture discussed the issues of price stabilization for basic products and vaccination of agricultural workers

On January 20, the Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev held the first meeting of the operational headquarters in 2021 to monitor the situation in the agro-industrial complex and the food market. The event was attended by First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan Nail Zalakov, Deputy Ministers Marsel Makhmutov, Lenar Garipov and Rishat Khabipov.

The price situation in the food market, vaccination of agricultural workers against coronavirus, the provision of the industry with labor resources and other issues were discussed.

Dmitry Patrushev emphasized that the most important task is round-the-clock monitoring of prices for basic food products. The government has undertaken a complex of measures to stabilize the situation - these are additional subsidies, duties and quotas. In addition, an agreement was signed between the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, retail chains, unions and associations aimed at reducing prices for sunflower oil and sugar. According to the Minister, prices for granulated sugar and sunflower oil are decreasing among producers and in retail.

The Ministry of Agriculture of Tatarstan, together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic, is constantly monitoring the situation with the selling prices of agricultural producers and in retail chains. Wholesale prices for sugar and vegetable oil from producers in Tatarstan do not exceed 36 rubles per kg and 95 rubles per liter, respectively, and in retail chains - 46 and 110 rubles.

Also the situation with the spread of coronavirus infection is under special attention this year. “Taking into account the specifics of the organization of individual industries, the organizations of the agro-industrial complex, together with the regional authorities, need to work out the possibility of vaccination as a matter of priority for workers in slaughter, processing and sorting shops. Based on the information received from the subjects, at the first stage, the need for those wishing to vaccinate agricultural workers is estimated at 250 thousand doses of vaccine, of which more than 2 thousand people are in Tatarstan. In total, according to preliminary calculations, 1 million doses are needed, ”noted Dmitry Patrushev.

During the meeting, the topic of preparation for spring field work was also discussed. The head of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia instructed to keep under control the issue of providing farmers with material and technical resources, as well as to continue monitoring the state of winter crops.
