19 January 2021, Tuesday

The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia discussed issues of ensuring fire safety at agricultural facilities during seasonal field work in 2021. The meeting, chaired by First Deputy Minister Dzhambulat Khatuov, was attended by the heads of the regional management bodies of the agro-industrial complex, representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, Rosselkhoznadzor, Rosselkhoztsentr, as well as the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov.

In 2020, a set of preventive measures made it possible to prevent serious fires at agricultural facilities. According to the First Deputy Minister, an important area of work to prevent fires is the introduction of unused land into agricultural use. So, last year, about 1 million hectares were involved, it is expected that this year the figure will remain at the same level. In addition, regions need to avoid burning off crop residues and create mineralized strips.

The participants of the meeting paid special attention to the topic of improving the regulatory framework. Last year, new fire safety rules came into force - the document establishes the procedure for organizing production and maintenance of territories, buildings and structures at agricultural facilities.

As a result of the event, the regions were instructed to form a "Roadmap" to ensure fire safety by March 1. Dzhambulat Khatuov emphasized that the department also expects to strengthen municipal land control and state land supervision carried out by Rosselkhoznadzor, Rosprirodnadzor and Rosreestr.

The Ministry of Emergencies of Tatarstan as a tool for tracking fires is recommended to use the mobile application "Thermal points of the Ministry of Emergency Situations", which can be configured for a particular area.

All planned measures should ensure that violations of fire safety rules are prevented, both during the period of field work and during the entire fire hazard period.
