Every week we write about people who, with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan, develop their business in rural areas, family farms and young entrepreneurs doing what they love. One of these is Ravgat Khanov from the village of Iske Muncha, Menzelinsky District.

In the 70s, Ravgat Khanov worked as a mechanic in the road construction department in Chelny, and his wife Zaynap was a cook in the Lira cafe. There they got an apartment. But despite the city life, they decided to return to their native lands and go about their business in the countryside.

Today the farm maintains 68 heads of cattle, of which 25 are dairy cows, two heifers, bulls and calves for fattening. More than 30 liters of milk are produced. For milking, the farm uses 6 machines "Milking". Since spring, milk has been handed over to an entrepreneur who produces cheese in the village of Azmushkino, Tukaevsky district.

“I am an enterprising person. I think it's hereditary. My father worked on a collective farm. Mother, too, did not stay away from the collective farm work. With my attitude to work, I am rather a generation of my parents. Despite the fact that they worked without rest, their work was rated too low. And now, in the agricultural sector, a hardworking person has a decent wage, ”the farmer notes.

All living conditions have been created for the company's employees. There is a special room for them in the farmer's house, where they all eat and rest together.

“It is profitable to keep meat and dairy cattle in our settlement. We feed the calves with fresh milk for two months. In the middle of the day, each calf is additionally watered with warm water. We take care of the calves like little children, so they grow well. Every year we slaughter 10-15 bulls and sell meat to relatives and friends. Milk is taken directly from the gate, ”says Ravgat Khanov.

His family helps him in making hay. Grandson Bulat sits on a T-40 tractor and collects hay. Rafil's son is transporting rolled hay by car.

“We prepared 3 tons for each cow, and 2 tons of high quality meadow hay for each calf. We have prepared a lot of straw, more than 100 bales in total. Compound feed was purchased at 8 thousand rubles per ton from farmers Ildus Khabibullin and Ilgiz Zagiev. More than 40 tons of barley and wheat were purchased. We cook potatoes, apples, pears in 4 cauldrons of 70 liters each, mix them with compound feed and feed animals, ”says Bulat.

State support is also palpable. In 2020, the farmer received a subsidy from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan for the maintenance of cows in the amount of more than 107 thousand rubles.

If you have any questions: How to build a successful business in the countryside? Which direction to choose? Where to begin? What support and subsidies can you get from the state?
