In December 20, 2020, In Tatarstan, the first outbreak of African swine fever among wild boars was identified in the national park "Nizhnyaya Kama" of the Yelabuga region.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan asks the population to treat with understanding. According to the veterinary rules for the elimination of ASF outbreaks, the withdrawal and alienation of pigs and pig products in the first threatened zone of the epizootic focus is carried out in order to prevent further spread of the infection.

The alienation will be compensated at market value at the time of the withdrawal in accordance with the live weight of the animals and the weight of the product.

To prevent the introduction of infection, it is necessary to fully ensure:

- closed mode of the enterprise.

- to ensure the continuous operation of disinfection barriers, sanitary inspection rooms, disinfection equipment;

- carry out a complete disinfection of vehicles;

- create a stock of disinfectants;

- to prohibit workers of poultry and pig farms from raising and keeping domestic pigs and poultry in a private backyard;

- provide workers with sets of overalls and footwear;

- to provide its centralized washing;

- to prevent workers of farms and enterprises from visiting the territories unfavorable for avian influenza and ASF;

- in case of suspicion of a disease, provide immediate information to the Veterinary Directorate;

- ensure the prevention of illegal import of pigs and live poultry, hatching eggs, feed, technological equipment;

- it is also necessary to prevent the import of feed from areas affected by ASF and avian influenza. It can be infected.

- it is necessary to ensure the implementation of the veterinary and sanitary rules for keeping pigs, and citizens, owners of personal backyards, need to ensure that pigs are kept out of range.

For reference: Since the beginning of the year, 265 cases of infection have been registered in the Russian Federation, including 159 among domestic pigs and 106 among wild boars.
