The pond in the village of Staroye Isakovo has become home to carp, paddlefish and silver carps. This summer, entrepreneur Eduard Akhmetsafin launched as many as 7 tons of fish fry into the reservoir.

This year, the head of the farm, Akhmetsafin Eduard Rafisovich, with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan, received a grant of 3 million 696 thousand rubles for the development of a family farm for raising marketable fish (at least 28 tons per year). With the help of the grant, he purchased equipment, 5 tons of carp fry, a ton of paddlefish and silver carp fry.

Recently, the farmer bought another 400 kg of paddlefish broodstock. This type of sturgeon is unique in that the size of an adult can reach two meters in length, and its weight is about 70-80 kg. Paddlefish lives in the fresh waters of Asia and America, and is not too whimsical to habitat. Paddlefish, which Eduard Akhmetsafin breeds, weigh 6-7 kg, they have a very long nose, which takes up to a third of the total body length, scales on the body surface of paddlefish are practically absent. The fish feeds on phytoplankton and zooplankton.

“The fish was brought in a special car in compliance with all the necessary conditions. Paddlefish is interesting to us commercially, meat and caviar are high in calories, tasty and nutritious, it contains nutrients, ”says Eduard Akhmetsafin.

To date, the farmer has already sold 24 tons of fish, for a total amount of about 7 million rubles. In the future, the Bugulma entrepreneur plans to create an incubation center for the extraction and processing of caviar.

Whatever one may say, there are solid pluses: fish farming in the area is developing, and the Bugulma residents are provided with fresh fish from a local producer, and there is a place to rest with a fishing rod. In addition to obtaining marketable fish, stocking the reservoir also improves the ecosystem of the pond.
