To exclude African swine fever, samples were taken from three wild boars and sent for research to the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Tatar Interregional Veterinary Laboratory". A positive result of African swine fever was received on 20 December 2020. On December 21, 2020, confirmation of the diagnosis of ASF was received from the Federal Center for Animal Health in the city of Vladimir.

In the course of additional examinations of the epizootic focus zone, another 10 bodies of wild boars were revealed. All dead animals were burned at the place of their discovery, and disinfection was carried out.

On all adjacent roads within a 5 km zone from the epizootic focus, posts were set up to restrict the access of vehicles and people to the first threatened zone.
