The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan organized a press tour dedicated to the upcoming Year of the Ox

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan organized for the media and bloggers a press tour to the head breeding enterprise "Elita" in the Vysokogorsk region, where the most stately and beautiful sire bulls in Tatarstan are kept.

The educational excursion was conducted by Fannur Zaripov, director of the head breeding enterprise "Elita".

At the beginning of the event, journalists visited the laboratory for packing and freezing semen (for artificial insemination), learned and saw on the big screen what parameters the semen quality is assessed. In the laboratory, journalists could observe the semen packing procedure.

“Packing and freezing of genetic material is carried out here. Today we store more than 10 breeds of seed. About 20 thousand doses of seed material can be obtained from one bull every year, ”Fannur Zaripov noted.

As part of the press tour, the guests got acquainted with the most interesting breeds of bulls living in Tatarstan - black-flecked, Holstein, Hereford and Aberdeen Angus, and also learned how many calves were born from these bulls and what records their offspring set.

Some animal nicknames appear in animals from birth, and some are already invented by the employees of the enterprise themselves. Among the most unusual are “Myth”, “Aristotle”, “Luntik”, etc.

For example, the American bull of the Holstein breed "Iron". His ancestor is such a famous bull as Shotle. The mother's productivity per lactation is 13234 kg of milk. This breed of bulls has strong limbs, improves milk yield, transmits the ability to increase the content of fat and protein in milk, increases productive longevity, improves the shape and texture of the udder, increases the growth of offspring, high seed fertility, conveys a low content of somatic cells in milk, resistance to mastitis. To date, this bull has 3600 daughters.

At the end of the meeting, Fannur Zaripov, Director of the State Enterprise "Elita", spoke about the daily routine and nutrition of the bulls.

“We feed them a little, according to an individual diet. They can receive from three to four kilograms of concentrated feed and hay per day. Walks in the winter season take place every day, they go only for the night. And in the summer they are kept on the street.”
