Kazan gingerbread is nominated for the Tastes of Russia

29 November 2020, Sunday

For the first national competition of regional brands "Tastes of Russia" CJSC "Yelabuga food plant" with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan presented Kazan gingerbread.

Kazan gingerbread was originally baked according to a special recipe with a special pattern, symbolizing local attractions. They don't do that anywhere else!

The sweetness is prepared using a complex traditional technology. The ancient base of gingerbread is honey, sugar syrup or molasses, combined with flour and spices. Most often, part of the wheat and part of the rye flour were taken for one batch.

Even strong alcohol was added to the gingerbread dough as a baking powder. It speeds up the fermentation processes and shortens the time of preparation.

Nowadays, gingerbread is traditionally made from high quality rye flour using natural oils and ingredients. The dish has a delicate caramel flavor and an extraordinary poppy-lemon aroma. It is distinguished by its high energy value.

Gingerbread is traditionally glazed, which protects it from fast hardening. The rye flour normalizes digestion, helps cleanse the body. The poppy, which is part of its composition, provides the body with potassium, calcium, iron and magnesium and contains vitamins A, C, D and E.

Gingerbread is produced in a variety of sizes and shapes, and in order for the product to be remembered and become a real gift, a special branded packaging was developed for it, which makes Kazan gingerbread a pleasant souvenir that you can take with you as a keepsake or as a present. Currently, these products are produced on an industrial scale and are in great demand for special events.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan reminds that you can vote for the nominee from November 19 to December 2 on the Tastes of Russia website at the link
