The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan discussed the results of variety testing of agricultural crops

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan held a meeting on the formation of proposals for amending the State Register of Breeding Achievements approved for use in the Republic of Tatarstan for 2021.

The meeting was attended by the head of the branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "State Sort Commission" for the Republic of Tatarstan Vitaly Novichkov, the head of the TatNIISH - a separate structural unit of the Federal Research Center "KazSC RAS" Marsel Tagirov, Deputy Head of the branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Rosselkhoztsentr" in the Republic of Tatarstan Rafis Khabibullin, General Director of the SRO Association Yuri Erov, specialists of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan, scientists and breeders of a separate subdivision of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution FITS" KazNC "TatNIISKH", specialists of agricultural holdings.

The main report on the results of crop variety testing was made by the head of the branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "State Variety Commission" in the Republic of Tatarstan Vitaly Novichkov. He presented the results of testing new varieties of winter rye, winter and spring wheat, oats, peas, corn, sunflower and other crops.

Following the meeting, the commission proposed 18 varieties and hybrids of domestic and foreign selection for zoning in 2021. These included: winter rye - 1 hybrid, winter wheat - 1 variety, spring wheat - 2 varieties, barley - 3 varieties, potatoes - 2 varieties. It was also proposed for agricultural producers of the republic to expand the range of cultivated varieties already included in the 7th region. The members of the commission discussed the proposals of the branch and voted in favor of making changes to the State Register of Breeding Achievements approved for use in the Republic of Tatarstan for 2021.
