Outside the village of Turkash, in Kukmorsky district, a turkey farm has grown in one year, from which high-quality products are sent to Kazan.

“I have had experience in growing turkeys since 2007,” says the head of the farm Ilshat Khabibullin. - Then I, while studying at the Kazan Cooperative Institute, got a job at the farm "Mars", where they worked with this bird. For six years I raised a turkey, then became the head of a processing workshop. Since 2013, I began to grow turkey on my personal subsidiary farm in the village of Turkash.

The experience gained and self-confidence became the impetus for Ilshat Khabibullin to participate in the competition of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan for a grant within the framework of the National Project "Small and Medium Enterprises and Support for Entrepreneurial Initiatives" under the "Agrostartup" program. And he became the owner of the grant.

“Of course, to participate in this program, I had to mobilize all my savings and borrow from my relatives,” Ilshat Iskandarovich notes. - The state would not risk budget money if the farmer himself does not invest in his business - these are the selection criteria.

When received the grant funds, the farmer sent part of it to purchase the equipment: drinkers, feeders with a feed bunker. For the rest he bought young poultry and hired two poultry farmers and a security guard.

Membership in the “Turkey” agricultural consumer cooperative also became a serious support for the farmer. An agreement was signed, according to which the poultry is shipped to the cooperative, and the cooperative, in turn, provides the farm with services the farmer needs. In particular, one of the feed mills began to produce and supply compound feed specifically for turkeys using a specially prepared ration.

- Feeding is a very important factor in the development of birds, but not the only one. The room should not be stuffy, hot or cold, - says Ilshat Iskandarovich. - For this, the equipment includes a sensor system and a set of devices for maintaining a healthy microclimate.

The farmer loves the business he is doing. And for him this is no less important factor than the profit from the sale of products. And he also admits that he loves solving emerging problems, without them he would be bored with life. These problems arise every day - large and small, and Ilshat Khabibullin goes brainstorming. And here he sees both rapture and the joy of being.

“People are now realizing that it’s better to buy food from small farms,” says the farmer. - And we see it, because there are no problems with sales. This year we have already sold 13,500 birds.
