Today, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture Jambulat Khatuov held a regular meeting to monitor the situation with socially significant agricultural products and food. The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov.

Opening the meeting, Dzhambulat Khatuov noted that the autumn field work is being carried out as usual. As of October 22, 131.2 million tons of grain were threshed in the country. There is still about 1.7 million hectares to be harvested, including 1.1 million hectares of corn for grain.

To date, 57% of the area of ​​corn has been harvested in Tatarstan (25.6 thousand hectares. Left to harvest - 19.0 thousand hectares). 135 thousand tons were harvested. Taking this into account, the gross grain harvest will amount to over 5.4 million tons of grain. Sugar beet was dug from 48.4 thousand hectares out of 49.2 thousand hectares (98%), the yield is 2.1 million tons, it’s 441 centners / ha. 1.0 million tons of beets were harvested. 116.1 thousand tons of granulated sugar was produced. The harvesting area of ​​sunflower is 120 thousand hectares. 91% of the area was harvested (110 thousand hectares), the average yield is 16.7 c / ha.

One of the key topics of the meeting was also to ensure the smooth operation of agricultural producers in terms of the coronavirus pandemic. According to Dzhambulat Khatuov, there were no failures in the work of enterprises.

Also, the meeting participants discussed the provision of regions with food and the prices. According to the representatives of the regional governing bodies of the agro-industrial complex, the situation on the food markets is stable, the production volumes allow covering the existing demand, no significant price fluctuations for basic food products have been recorded.
