Tatarstan is among the leading regions in terms of the volume of rural mortgage lending among Russian regions, along with Bashkortostan, Leningrad and Novosibirsk regions. 708 families have already used the program in the republic.

The main operator of the program is the Russian Agricultural Bank. The credit institution issued 1.6 billion rubles to Tatarstan citizens for the purchase of primary and secondary housing in rural areas, with 26 billion rubles in Russia.

“One of the goals of the program has been achieved - in Tatarstan, housing is most in demand in small settlements (with a population of 0 to 5 thousand) - this segment accounts for most - 35% - of applications. The second place - 33% of all applications - is the purchase of housing in regional centers (population from 5 to 10 thousand people). 20% of clients purchase housing in settlements with a population of 10 to 20 thousand people and 12% - from 20 to 30 thousand people. The volume of mortgage lending will grow, as it is inextricably linked with the implementation of the program for the comprehensive development of rural areas, ”said Lyalya Kudermetova, director of the Tatarstan regional branch of Rosselkhozbank JSC.

At the moment, the total volume of loans issued by Rosselkhozbank under the preferential rural mortgage program throughout the country has exceeded 26 billion rubles. About 13 thousand people received assistance in improving their living conditions.

Any citizen of the country aged 21 to 75 years can apply for a preferential rural mortgage at 3% per year. The amount of the loan issued for a period of up to 25 years is in the range from 100 thousand to 3 million, while the initial payment starts from 10%. An important condition of the program: the purchased house, apartment or land plot must be located in rural areas.

Sberbank has also started issuing loans under the program of preferential rural mortgages. To date, the credit institution has issued 3 loans.
