Roman Chekushov: The Republic of Tatarstan has made a huge breakthrough in the export of agricultural products over the past year

Roman Chekushov, Director of the Department for the Development of Export of Agricultural Products of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, held in Tatarstan a number of seminars-meetings on export issues, including the export of halal products. The events were attended by representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan, representatives of other industry departments and agricultural producers-exporters of agricultural products.

First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan Nail Zalakov reported on the results of the export of the agro-industrial complex of the republic for the current period and plans by the end of the year. He noted that as of August 14, the export of agricultural products of the republic was completed by 52% of the plan - $ 318.3 million and amounted to $ 165.4 million. Compared to the same period last year, the increase is 80.6% or 73.8 million dollars.

Roman Chekushov noted that the republic has made a huge breakthrough in the export of agricultural products over the past year. A serious regional infrastructure has been created. The Russian Ministry of Agriculture, in turn, will improve financial support instruments. Exports are supported in two key areas: stimulating the production and processing of oilseeds and concessional lending. In addition, the issues of transportation and information support of exporters are being worked out. So, on the specialized information resource Agroexport, you can get information on measures of state support, study analytics, market structure for various types of products and consult with specialists.

Rustem Gainullov, an expert of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan on the export of halal products, said that now the total volume of Halal products produced in the republic is more than 7 billion rubles, more than 50 manufacturers, including: - 18 export-oriented companies, 5 of them have an international Halal certificate.

It was noted at the meeting that Tatarstan plans to increase the export of Halal products by at least 2 times by 2024 compared to the expected result of 2020.

“Of course, the potential of the halal market is huge. Work in this direction needs to be developed, and Tatarstan should become the strategic center in this activity, ”said Roman Chekushov.

The Director of the Department for the Development of Export of Agricultural Products of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia also got acquainted with the activities of the Kazan oil extraction plant and the agricultural cooperative "Kausar".
