Schoolchildren of Tukayevsky district are looking forward to summer holidays not only for recreation, but also in order to get a job and earn some money for their needs.
Thus, the farm "Yarysh" of Tukayevsky district provides pupils with work every year during the summer holidays. This year the farm employed 14 schoolchildren. 10 of them are occupied by preparing barns for receiving grain and cleaning the premises for livestock, and 4 work as shepherds.
So, Ernest Sharipov, Elvir Valiev, Ruslan Karpov and Azat Nabiev have been on the pasture for several years already. Each shepherd has a backpack. He is wearing a headdress and a veil. During the day, the children are provided with drinking water and food for free.
The farm has 1,500 head of cattle. They are divided into three herds. One of them is cared by Ernest Sharipov.
“I have been helping my parents since childhood. I really enjoy tinkering with animals. At first I learned to snap a whip well. From the first salary, I helped with home renovations”, Ernest remembers.
“It is not a shame to be a shepherd, it is bad to grow up lazy, not to work”. Today he is responsible for 250 heads of livestock. “Being a shepherd is not easy. This is a very demanding job. Here young heifers. They have a lot of energy, they can run around the meadow. They are attracted by hares, dogs, and they can follow them. No animal should be overlooked. The cows look at the shepherd warily. The shepherd as a leader must go ahead and lead the whole flock. It is especially hard on hot days. Gadflies haunt. To protect against them, cows are sprayed with a special liquid - a decrease in milk yield should not be allowed. The hardest part for a shepherd is to be on his feet all day long. In the evening, the legs get tired, calluses appear. They pay 20 thousand rubles a month for this work. In the city, adults don't get that much money either! ”He says.
A herd of 120 heads near the village of Kuzkeevo is grazed by 17-year-old Ruslan Karpov. This year he graduated from the ninth grade. He plans to continue his studies in Naberezhnye Chelny or Kazan. While the cows are resting, he even has time to read an e-book. After all, he needs to prepare for the upcoming study.
Ruslan wakes up at 6a.m. and returns from work at 5p.m.
“The cows are especially fond of a variety of grass - cinquefoil. I try to take them to places where there is a lot of it, ”he says.
Ruslan grazes not only cows, but also bulls. The guy lovingly calls one of them "Bear".
“That bull has a calm character. I don't think it's dangerous. He is a kind of assistant to the shepherds. It protects the cows, does not let them go far, ”he says.
Ruslan does not spend his salary on ice cream and chocolate, but saves for the necessary supplies for the new academic year.
“Hiring minors is a big responsibility. In addition, hard work is prohibited for children, and extra working hours are contraindicated for them. What are the advantages of employing schoolchildren? Unlike adults, they have no daily responsibilities and worries other than this job. Therefore, they direct all their forces to its implementation. And this means that responsibility for labor increases, and work efficiency increases. No child can be made to work. Only on their own. Modern children are not particularly eager to work. We are glad that children receive labor education here. Children need to be praised more often, their self-esteem should be raised, ” says Rasim Shaikhattarov, head of the Yarysh farm.
