Every week we write about people who have opened their business in the countryside, family farms and young entrepreneurs, who are engaged in business that they love. One of them is Sergey Shchekin from the village of Novaya Aleksandrovka, Aksubaevsky District.
In 2016, the farmer won a 3 million rubles grant from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan in the dairy direction. Thanks to the grant he was able to build a typical farm building and establish all necessary communications: milk pipe, manure removal system and others. Now the farm contains 30 milk cows and 18 pigs. Every day, the farmer receives about 450 kg of milk.
These days, the main task of the economy is the preparation of feed for the winter. The farm is located on 100 hectares, 30 hectares of which are sown with grain crops. The remaining 70 ha are fodder.
This year, Sergey decided to stock up haylage by rolling grass in polyethylene. Mowed grass, as in conventional harvesting technology, is brought to the desired percentage of moisture.
“With this technology, vitamins and nutrients are kept, which guarantees high quality haylage. Last winter, this haylage went off well, two weeks after the first batch, we cut the roll and gave this food to the calves for a test - they immediately ate it, ”says the farmer.
The Shchekins' farm is truly family-owned, with his wife Tatyana, son and daughter, helping in the preparation of feed, milking, and caring for animals. The farmer plans to build a paddock for young animals next to the farm over the summer. Construction has already begun - iron pipes have been installed, material has been purchased.
The farm of Sergei Shchekin is seriously approaching breeding, and there is the artificial insemination of cows that was established.
