Due to the coronavirus pandemic this year, the cattle contest was held online on the YouTube channel of the Ministry of Agriculture of Udmurtia from June 15-19. It was attended by tribal and commercial farms of Tatarstan, Tver, Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk regions. Elite animals were estimated by authoritative international experts from the USA. In total, more than 50 agricultural enterprises participated in the exhibition-show, 148 animals were evaluated.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan, commodity farms were presented in 4 categories - heifer, cows and calves, bulls under the age of 2 years and bulls over 2 years.
The Angelina Commodity Farm of the Mendeleevsky District presented the Aberdeen-Angus breed at the competition and became the absolute champion and was awarded with diplomas in the Commodity Herd category. The farm has been operating in this direction since 2015.
“Such events occur extremely rarely, so we decided to take part in this competition, presenting the meat sector of the republic’s commodity economy. In the future we plan to obtain tribal status”, says Oleg Smirnov, director of the farm.
