Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev held a regular meeting to monitor the situation with socially significant agricultural products and food.
During the event, with the participation of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, Minister of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov, representatives of federal executive bodies, regional governing bodies of the agro-industrial complex, as well as industry unions and major banks, topical issues of the functioning of the agro-industrial complex and ensuring the stability of the food market in Russia were considered
As Dmitry Patrushev noted, despite the difficulties that had to be encountered in the first half of the year, according to most indicators, the predicted values for sowing were fulfilled, and 22 subjects had it even overdone. Currently, sowing in most of Russia is in its final stages. In general, about 97% of the forecasted area is sown in the country - this is more than 50 million hectares of spring crops.
In Tatarstan, the sowing this year was held under favorable weather conditions. Organization and quality of work were up to standard. The area of spring sowing amounted to 1.8 million hectares, and the total sown area is over 2.8 million hectares. A harvesting campaign is already starting in the South and the North Caucasus.
The minister thanked the Russian farmers for their diligent and dedicated work, and the regional agro-industrial complex management bodies for the professionalism shown in difficult conditions, when decisions had to be taken instantly in order to prevent failures and delays during the sowing season.
At the same time, with a generally positive background, certain risks are also observed - during the event, issues related to difficult weather conditions in some entities were examined. In addition, they discussed the renewal of the agricultural machinery fleet, including through demanded concessional leasing programs, and the implementation of the concessional lending mechanism.
Speaking about the support of small business forms, Dmitry Patrushev noted that regional mechanisms should be aimed at methodological support, assistance in the acquisition of commercial equipment and machinery, and the development of non-stationary and mobile trading. At the same time, basic support measures should contribute to the development of markets for small and medium-sized agribusiness.
