9 June 2020, Tuesday

Agricultural producers of Tatarstan are preparing for the Field Day 2020 exhibition, which will be held in Laishevsky district of the Republic of Tatarstan (near the village of Bolshie Kabany). The exhibition will present the advanced achievements of the agricultural industry in the sections "Crop production", "Engineering and technical support of the agro-industrial complex", "Livestock", "Melioration", "Small forms of management" and "Digitalization of the agro-industrial complex".

“They prepare for such exhibitions in advance,” says the head of the TatNIISKh FRC KazSC RAS, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, member of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan Marsel Tagirov. - Our breeders, for example, have already set up plots with promising varieties of winter crops since autumn; in the spring they have sown spring cereals, legumes, industrial and forage crops - fifty varieties and lines.

Tatarstan scientists have a lot to be proud of. For example, the winter rye variety Tantana is characterized not only by good baking qualities, but also by high winter hardiness and drought resistance. Winter rye of the Podarok variety is one of the first rye varieties in the Russian selection, intended for use for grain feed and fodder purposes. It is highly resistant to lodging, root rot and ergot. A new variety of winter rye Zilant, included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements in 2020, will also attract the attention of specialists.

Winter wheat of Kazanskaya 560 variety has been the standard for almost 20 years, and agronomists are still interested in this variety.

Spring wheat of the Yulduz variety is rapidly increasing its rating, now this variety occupies 82 thousand hectares only in Tatarstan.

Of course, plots with varieties of barley - a valuable grain and fodder crop - will be of great interest to the exhibition participants. And, of course, they will not bypass the drought-resistant variety Kamashevsky, included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements in 2017. Thanks to the efforts of our scientists, it surpassed the famous variety Raushan in its characteristics, which has been occupying large areas in the farms of the Middle Volga and Vyatka regions for more than 20 years.
