Implementation of projects in land reclamation contributes to the development of the agricultural sector of the republic
Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic Marat Zyabbarov reported on the state of the land reclamation complex of the republic today at a meeting in the Government House.
The President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov held a videoconference with all municipal areas. The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Aleksey Pesoshin.
The Minister briefly reported on the current situation in the fields. So, today 30 thousand hectares of land are to be sown, in the coming days sowing will be completed.
Turning to the main report, Marat Zyabbarov recalled that after the abnormal drought of 2010, serious attention in the republic was paid to updating the reclamation complex. Federal and republican targeted land reclamation programs have been implemented. Over the past 5 years, 260 dams and hydraulic structures (GTS) were repaired. During the 8 years implementation of the presidential program for the overhaul of hydraulic structures, more than 450 ponds from the available 887 structures were brought into the normative technical condition.
“Pond restoration work is ongoing. Repair is needed at 120 GTS and dams. There are many of them in Aznakaevsky, Aksubaevsky, Vysokogorsky, Nurlat regions. We need to preserve and maximize the potential of these ponds for the reproduction of agricultural products, ”the minister said.
Over 5 years, more than 15 thousand hectares of irrigated land were reconstructed, including more than 600 hectares of intensive orchards on drip irrigation laid for the development of the fruit and berry cluster. 2.5 billion rubles were allocated, including 1.6 billion rubles from the republican budget. In general, since 2010, more than 30 thousand ha of irrigated land has been restored. Thanks to the work done, the republic fully met its needs for potatoes and vegetables”, Marat Zyabbarov said.
Today, 109 farms have 367 modern sprinklers. Moreover, farms have more than 200 modern diesel pumping stations.
However, according to the minister, the irrigated lands restored in 10 years occupy less than 20% of the previously reclaimed land, built in Soviet times in the republic. The area was 170 thousand ha. Today, for those wishing to restore irrigation to farms from the republican and federal budgets, 70% of the costs for the construction and restoration of irrigated lands, as well as for the purchase of modern irrigation and pumping equipment, including drip irrigation systems, are subsidized with target programs.
In 2020, it is planned to finance land reclamation programs worth 493 million rubles. It is planned to restore and equip irrigated lands on an area of 3 thousand hectares, repair 32 hydraulic structures, and drill more than 30 wells. “In order to guarantee the stability of agricultural production, it is desirable for us to have at least 100 thousand hectares of irrigated land,” added Marat Zyabbarov.
Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that the implementation of projects in the field of land reclamation contributes to the sustainable development of the agro-industrial complex of the republic. “The issue of development of land reclamation should be under strict control. Without land reclamation, we have no prospects in agriculture. This direction needs to be supported, ”the RT President emphasized.
