21 May 2020, Thursday

Since 2021, a unified identification of cattle stock has been introduced in Russia, in 21 regions all cattle has already been identified. These days, the introduction of the identification begins in Tatarstan.

The system works as follows: the animal is assigned a unique number registered in a single information system, which is recorded on a tag or chip, the final registration is carried out by the district veterinary service, which confirms the presence of the animal. At the same time, the owner of the animal can see his livestock and the entire history of veterinary measures for a particular animal in an electronic database.

Without a single number, the animal will not be able to get to the slaughter, and even more so, on the counter. Any buyer, if necessary, will be able to see the origin of the animal and the entire history of veterinary measures. In addition, the animal cannot be officially discarded without a registration number.

Arsky and Baltasinsky districts were chosen as pilot districts in Tatarstan. There they are currently training veterinary services specialists, the operator for the implementation of the software product is RIVC JSC, which is engaged in staff training and maintenance of the software product, as well as a tag supplier with a unique number in the Republic of Tatarstan.

The introduction of unified identification numbers will be carried out in 2020 also at the basic farms in each region of Tatarstan.
