Today, May 20, is World Bee Day, established by a resolution of the UN General Assembly in 2017. First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Russia Dzhambulat Khatuov congratulated the beekeepers on the holiday.
The meeting was held in the video mode with all regions of Russia and was dedicated to preventing the death of bees in 2020. The event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Lenar Garipov, Director of the State Budget Institution “Department of Aquaculture and Beekeeping of the Republic of Tatarstan” Marat Minnebaev and beekeepers of Tatarstan.
In order to prevent the death of bees in 2020, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan created a register of beekeepers and, together with the Russian Agricultural Center, developed the “Instructions for the prevention of bee poisoning by pesticides”, intended for beekeepers and agricultural producers of the republic to preserve honey bees and protect professional interests in the agricultural use of pesticides.
For prompt notification in each region, specialized groups have been launched in the WhatsApp messenger on the interaction of farmers and beekeepers. Also working groups have been created, which include specialists from the Agricultural administrations of districts, agronomists of agricultural enterprises, representatives of the Rosselkhoznadzor, Rosselkhoztsentr, State Veterinary Inspection, rural settlement, specialists of the Department of aquaculture and beekeeping of the Republic of Tatarstan and beekeepers of districts.
In the group, the farmer indicates the place and time of the planned processing work, at least 3 days in advance. And beekeepers receive automatic alerts. This will allow them to take timely measures necessary to reduce the risk of pesticide poisoning. For example, transport the hives to a safe place.
In addition, the certification of apiaries continues in Tatarstan. In Tatarstan today there are 245,429 bee colonies and 9,106 apiaries. Of these, 3,964, and this is about 44%, have already received passports. The passport of a single sample contains a unique number, information about the owner of the apiary, its location, the number of bee colonies, as well as what treatments and therapeutic measures have been carried out.
Passportization is voluntary. In some areas, such as Tukaevsky, Zainsky, Nurlatsky, Elabuzhsky, etc., passportization reached 100%. Others show extremely low interest.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan draws attention to the fact that passportization is carried out with the aim of creating a unified register and preventing the death of bees, and recommends that beekeepers apply for passports at the DSVA (District State Veterinary Association) in their area.
