Marat Zyabbarov studied the prospects of cooperation with the Federal Research Center "KazSC RAS"

On May 19, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, Minister of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov visited the Kazan Research Center of the Russian Federation. During the visit, the minister got acquainted with the areas of scientific activity of the research center, examined laboratories specializing in biology, agriculture and chemistry, met with scientists and specialists, discussed the prospects for further cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan and the FRC of the KazSC RAS.

In the laboratory of plant infectious diseases, created in 2019, the Minister was told about the results of studies the causes of such a disease as "snow mold", which annually leads to significant crop losses of winter varieties. Various approaches to solving this problem have been demonstrated, including molecular biology and classical selection methods. The laboratory of glycobiology dealt with vegetable carbohydrates and the prospects of using renewable natural raw materials and their deep processing in order to create healthy food. In addition, Marat Zyabbarov was presented with the experimental capabilities of omix technologies when creating new plant varieties.

Several chemical laboratories of the center discussed the issues of obtaining promising plant protection products, veterinary drugs, feed additives for the livestock complex, as well as issues of reducing the toxicity of pesticides and creating means for their targeted delivery. At the Center for Collective Use of Unique Scientific Equipment, the Minister was told about modern methods of analysis and study of the structure of new chemicals, as well as about the program for updating the instrument park.

At the Center for Neurochemistry and Pharmacology, which was created at the Federal Research Center for Science and Technology of the Russian Academy of Sciences within the RSF megaproject for integrated infrastructure development, representatives of the ministry examined the vivarium and microbiological laboratory licensed to work with strains of pathogens of hazard class 3 and 4.

Following the visit, Marat Zyabbarov met with the Director of the FIC of the KazSC RAS, academician Oleg Sinyashin. The parties discussed areas for further cooperation, including the issues of scientific interaction and training for the republic’s agro-industrial complex together with specialized universities of the Republic of Tatarstan - Agrarian University and Veterinary Academy.
