Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov reported on the current pace of the sowing campaign today at a republican meeting in the Government House of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The meeting was held by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov with all municipal areas. Prime Minister Alexey Pesoshin also took part in the work.

Marat Zyabbarov said that, despite the unfavorable weather for conducting field work, today the planned volumes of fertilizing and harrowing of winter crops and perennial grasses have been completed.

Of the upcoming spring sowing volumes (1.8 million ha), 413 thousand ha were sown, or 23% of the forecast. Of these, 322 thousand ha are the cereals, 20 thousand ha of oil crops , sugar beets - 14 thousand ha, fodder - 56 thousand ha. “The main constraint on the pace of work is a high moisture content of the soil,” said the head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The minister told about the pace of sowing based on the zonal location of the districts. The high-performance work is observed in Privolzhsky zone, Buinsky, Tetyushsky and Drozhzhanovsky districts. In the zone of Western Zakamye, the leaders are the Nurlat, Aksubaevsky and Alkeevsky districts. Aznakaevsky, Bavlinsky and Muslyumovsky, Zainsky, Aktanyshsky and Nizhnekamsky districts have the highest rates. Due to its geographical location, the northern regions of the republic have just begun sowing early cultures.

“It is necessary to try to take advantage of every favorable hour, join a round-the-clock work, and carry out the sowing campaign as soon as possible, observing all agrotechnical measures. There is everything necessary for this: both technology and people, ”Marat Zyabbarov addressed the district leaders.

“Winter crops are in good condition, enough moisture volume is the most important thing, I think. It is necessary to conduct an effective sowing, of course, observing all sanitary and epidemiological standards”, Rustam Minnikhanov added.
