The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan pays great attention to the development of small and medium enterprises in rural areas. Today in every district there are people who have opened their own business and successfully developed it. One of them is the Shokhin family from s. Staryie Kutushi of the Cheremshansky region. In 2016, they received a 200 thousand rubles grant from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan for the construction of mini-farms. And in 2019, they built a calf with personal funds.

The house of the family can be quickly found by haystacks. Only half of the 200 harvested rolls of hay is left. Without fodder, you don’t need a lot of milk. They prepared it in the fall, purchasing about 30 tons. Rye, barley and oats are passed through a chopper. They grow perennial grasses and beets.

“I moved to Staryie Kutushi from Krasnaya Polyana. We completed the house that my father began to build. At first, we had to go out to graze the herd every two weeks. Now we have an electric shepherd, it’s very convenient, ”says Vyacheslav Shokhin.

To work on the farm, they use their own equipment: a tractor, a truck, trailed aggregates, a baler and a milking machine.

“We do not regret that we started farming. We do almost all the work together. Sons constantly help us. There is a permanent source of income. There is enough money from the sale of milk for the purchase of fodder, ”says Nadezhda Shokhina.

In 2019, the family of Nadezhda and Vyacheslav Shokhin sold more than 26 tons of milk, earning about 500 thousand rubles on this. Every day they sell an average of 70 kilograms of milk.

“We come up with unusual names for cows: Marta, June, July. It's hard to come up with names for everyone. So, Martha is in the forefront. Every day, on average, it gives 12-13 kilograms of milk, for the winter period it’s not bad at all, ”says the farmer’s wife Nadezhda Shokhina.
